EPA seeks public response to proposed changes to Clean Water Act

The Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Army will be seeking public comments on their proposal to change the definition of “Waters of the U.S.” (WOTUS) as applied in the Clean Water Act.  According to the 12/28/19 Federal Register Notice, a related public hearing will be held January 23, 2019 in Kansas City, and written comments will be received identified by Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OW-2018-0149, to the Federal eRulemaking Portal: https://www.regulations.gov. General guidance on making effective comments is available at EPA’s “Commenting on EPA Dockets.”

These changes are drastic and deserving of public consideration, especially from the science community.
