GOMURC unites and represents 80 public and private institutions, all members of their state’s Principal Member consortium.

Research Capabilities: members have critical assets for support of marine research– please visit consortia web sites below and GOMURC’s Ocean Asset Inventory database to learn more.

GOMURC BOARD:

As defined in GOMURC’s Bylaws, the GOMURC Board includes:

  • Ten Primary Academic State representatives, two from each GoM state, including: 1) Principal Member leader or someone they designate to serve as long as they are leaders of their state consortium or system; 2) a second seat selected by each consortium or system lead to enhance the demographic, geographic, and disciplinary diversity of the Board and engage member institutions more broadly across the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Up to five at-large members also intended to expand the diversity and expertise of the Board.
  • Up to five non-voting advisors may be filled for a period of 1 year as approved by the Board with the intention of promoting regional partnerships and retaining expertise of past Board members.

STAFF:

The GOMURC office and coordinator are currently located on the campus of the Harte Research Institute, Corpus Christi, TX.
