Gulf Policy

National and regional legislation and policies related to Gulf of Mexico science and education (e.g., new bills, Presidential orders)

Posted by on in Gulf Policy

From American Federation of Teachers (AFT), "If the [proposed] Republican tax plan passes, it will not be possible for many graduate students across the country to afford their education. Their [Republican-led] bill will force them to pay hundreds of dollars more in taxes by treating tuition waivers - the tuition that is waived by universities as compensation for their work as teaching and research assistants - as taxable income, a tax bill they can’t afford on the salary of a graduate assistant."
