NOAA’s Education Council is soliciting general comments on the latest update of the NOAA Education Strategic Plan 2015 – 2035: Advancing NOAA’s Mission through Education, planned to be released later in 2015.  The Plan outlines the goals and objectives that NOAA Education will strive to achieve over the next 20 years. Comments must be received by April 10, 2015 and can be submitted via email to education.plan@noaa.gov, include “Education Plan Public Comment” in the subject line. Or via mail to Marissa Jones, NOAA Office of Education, U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20230. Include “Education Plan Public Comment” on the envelope. The National Research Council has a project to gather an ad hoc committee to inform monitoring and evaluation of restoration activities in the Gulf of Mexico. The committee will identify best practices for monitoring and evaluating restoration activities to improve the performance of restoration programs and increase the effectiveness and longevity of restoration projects. They are currently taking comments on the committee appointments with the commenting period ending on April 8.
